    Front Drive Shaft Stuck??? HELP!!!

Hey Turdle. I PMd you so sorry if you get duplicate inquiries. I read thru the link. I took my center console apart but did not have the bracket that required a sledghammer to remove. At the top of the hump I see what appears to be a vent/duct. Before I replace my console, would you know if this...

You see Turdle, this is why I say this forum rocks! I should have known this. I had to do something similar a few years back when I had a 1st Gen Explorer. I may even have a post on here on it! I'm going to go this route when I get home. Thanks Turdle!!! :salute:

    Front Drive Shaft Stuck??? HELP!!!

So i wake up early today to start working on the car. Plan was to replace the passenger side o2 sensor(because i got a CEL and I need to get an inspection), put the ujoints on the driveshaft and install, and maybe, if I had time and felt like it, drop the gas tank and fix my inoperable fuel...

    Front Drive Shaft Stuck??? HELP!!!

I would beg to differ Turdle; I was on my back breakin' my @$$ trying to get it out. Someone on another forum replied within 24 hours and told me where the driveshaft comes apart at, so short of indiscriminately whacking the crap out of the parts in the vicinity of the transfer case I wouldnt...

    Front Drive Shaft Stuck??? HELP!!!

Got it off! I finally got this summab*&^% off! Took me under a minute! Got underneath, took a hammer and a small screwdriver to wedge inbetween the flange and the transfer case who'syoumacallit, two taps later it fell off. Must have been damn near welded on with rust. Anyway, I took...

    Front Drive Shaft Stuck??? HELP!!!

So I got a couple of replies on other forums and I was told that the yoke does NOT come out of the transfer case on the front driveshaft so my flange must be rusted in place big time. Short of wacking the crap out of it with a hammer I wasn't getting it apart. So I sprayed some PB Blaster on it...

    Front Drive Shaft Stuck??? HELP!!!

So I had a clankity clank noise when pulling off and coming to a stop and serious vibration between 45 - 55 mph. I found out that it was a bad universal joint on my front driveshaft. Found a how-to on removing the driveshaft and replacing the u-joints which seemed to be straight forward with...

HHO: Is it alchemy? Or will it improve gas mileage on a ’99 4.0 SOHC Explorer?

Cabrera, i did not read through all of the pages on this, but have you or anyone else try Bob Boyce's design? I am about to embark on this after I get my ethanol conversion done.

I actually need access to the fuel injector connectors; they are buried underneath the plenum. My big hands cant reach the ones near the firewall and i dont want to handle them blindly.

Kewl..Sounds like a good plan. :salute: You mentioned sanding your lens and spraying with clear coat early on. What did you use to do that? I have a lens on my Navi that could use some sprucin' up...

    2001 5.4L Fuel Injector Access

I am looking to gain access to my fuel injectors on a 2001 Lincoln Nav. I am converting my Nav to run on 100% alcohol and need access to the fuel injector connectors. Anyone have any 'how to' suggestions with pics in what needs to be removed and how? Trying to get off the grid! :) :us:

Access Panel Bolts To Vacuum Modulator

Well, knock on wood, so far so good. I test drove it to Brooklyn and back home today; about 40 miles. The cel comes and goes still, probably in need of new O2 sensors. I hope not to have the problem in that thread. I'm crossing my fingers.

Access Panel Bolts To Vacuum Modulator

I was able to get one bolt off by pulling up on it with a visegrip, and actually had to bend up that side, slide my hand underneath with a thick pair of gloves on, and hold the fastener in place while I ratcheted the bolt. The Tinnerman retainer was so rusted that they split in half leaving the...

Access Panel Bolts To Vacuum Modulator

The modulator I had was like the bottom pic. I used water only because I was too lazy to go back to the store! I learned that 'cleaning' technique on another forum when I owned a Plymouth Laser. The quick and easy way to clean out the intake and combustion chamber was with water and to really do...

Access Panel Bolts To Vacuum Modulator

Done! WOW!!!WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!! I finally finished! My original problem was two-fold: I had to drop the fuel tank because it was leaking really bad, and I also had to replace the vacuum modulator because my '94 Exp was drinking about a quart of ATF almost every week. So, following the...

Access Panel Bolts To Vacuum Modulator

Thanks BrooklynBay. I'm a Brooklynite by proxy...been workin' there for 16 years! Anyhow, I'll try that first thing in the am...I noticed underneath what looks like a clip that the bolt goes through...will they fall out? I had someone ratchet the bolt while I was underneath and managed to see...

Access Panel Bolts To Vacuum Modulator

I read the threads about the 'disappearing' ATF. Followed the excellent instructions. Bought my vacuum modulator, removed the 2 bucket seats and console, peeled back the carpet and there it was; the shiny access plate on the hump. Thing is, they just turn and turn. I shot wd40 on 3 of the 4 from...
