    Whistle like whine under hood

    Maybe someone can diagnose this problem. Have a whistling whine type sound coming fron under the hood. I suspect either the power steering pump ( which leaks ) or the water pump . Any ideas ?

    POLK 572a speakers installed

    Just posting again to report on my polk speakers. Sound great. Deeper richer sound than my old jbl factory ones. Everything from Crutchfield was great. Instructions on removing door panels and connector converters ( free ) .

    Dear Kid , Those were 572a 's by the way. I sure hope I notice a difference. Don't want to change the head unit and go completely audiophile .I think my old stock speakers may be hurting to boot. Usually any quality speaker replacement will improve the sound , even with a mediocre head unit ...

    I've got POLK 357a 5x7 's on order for my 94 . Just sticking with the factory head unit . I'll post on how the system sounds when I get it installed. I'm replacing all 4 speakers.

    New Speakers

    Yes I've picked up all 4 speakers ( $169 US with shipping ) . Originals are 6x8 's apparently these are 5x7's but will fit. Hopefully the install will be simple enough. Sensitivity of the speakers are 91 db .

    I too am looking to improve the sound of my stock JBL system. However don't want to rip the whole system out to do it. So I picked up some POLK Ex572a speakers from Crutchfield . Anyone out there have any opinion on them . All I've heard is good things. Just plan to stick with the speaker...

    Possible alternator problem

    Thanks for the replies guys. The battery went kaput yesterday ( a 72 month Motomaster ) so I threw in an Energizer from Walmart. No time to shop around I'm afraid. The alternator is putting out about 14 volts at the battery terminals so I think the battery charge situation is OK. I'd do the...

    Possible alternator problem

    When I pull on the light switch I get a noticeable dimming in the radio display - even with just the marker lights. Amp gauge only drops whem I put on the fog lights. Is this normal or is my alternator giving out?
