    Thanks for the tips, Jon. Polishing then powdercoating sounds like a good option, if it's better than chrome plating. I'll look for a shop around here, & let the forum know how it turns out. -Bill

    Cast aluminum wheel corrosion - Mountaineer

    Hi, I just traded for a 2002 Mountaineer. Very nice overall, but the wheels have some sort of weird corrosion. Is there a common problem with these wheels? Can cast aluminum wheels be reconditioned or chrome plated? Thanks! -Bill
