    ENGINE NOISE AFTER OIL CHANGE

Fram filters have a poor check valve. Stick with a higher doller filter and you will be happy. I personally use Castrol Syntec 5w50 and LOVE it!! I also go 10k per change.

Rear wiper problem on a 1994

Before you replace the motor, check the window switch. There is a button switch inside the panel near where the latch mechanism is. If the switch is bad you can unplug it and the wiper will work. be careful though, so you don't run the wiper with the window open.

How to: Make Oil pressure gauge perform like "real" gauge

Steve, I read EVERY post on this thread before I posted one..Did you?? Also I have called Ford before on issues and the people working there often give inaccurate, incomplete,or just plain bad info. I'm talking about first-hand information that I've witnessed in person! Unless you were there...

How to: Make Oil pressure gauge perform like "real" gauge

The people that had it before me didn't even know how to CHECK the oil. They wouldn't have changed the sending unit. Don't assume that because it is "posted" that it is the undenyable truth! I saw on another X site that early x's had a working (although slow) gage, and my '93 confirmed that.

Varied from low "O" to high "R". Reacted very slowly though.

How to: Make Oil pressure gauge perform like "real" gauge

I had a '93 Sport, and different oil viscosities did alter the gage readings. I ran Castrol Syntec 5w50, and the oil pressure under high heat conditions was higher than when the engine was cold. I bought the '93 w/83k, sold it w/155k changed oil @10k intervals, and it used less than 1/4 quart...

How to: Make Oil pressure gauge perform like "real" gauge

93's do have a working gage, although it does react slowly. The newer X's have "gages for dummies".

Whats the dea w/ sythic oil?

Between Bronco II's and Explorer sports, I have put on about 150,000 miles using Castrol Syntec 5w50. I also run a minimum of 10,000 miles per change, except for the first change after buying a vehicle. It is the only way to go!! Danger!! Do Not run synthetics until the engine has been...

    premium gas

Using premium gasoline when not necessary to prevent detonation, WILL lower both performance and mileage. It is always best to have your fuel burn as quickly as possible as long as it doesn't cause detonation. Premium is required in high performance vehicles in order to maintain ignition advance.
