    Thanks Alec. The trans fluid is full. It is when the car is cold, the outside temperature doesn't seem to matter.

    My 1993 Explorer (Automatic) will not shift when cold. After placing the gear selector in 2nd I can at least drive 35 mph until the car warms up and then the tranny shifts fine.

    Cold Idle Problems

    I modified the airbox on my 92 Explorer and it runs a (hole) lot better! Only problem is the truck idles like crap until it warms up! Then it idles so sweet I can hardly stand it! Thanks for any help you can offer. paulstopit
