'01 ranger trans swap problem

    2001 Ranger. Transmission swap issue.

    2001, ranger 3.0 edge. Originally had an auto trans, swapped out for a manual from a different year ranger. Since the swap the trans performs great! BUT the check engine light is now on from the swap and it will not engage in low 4x4. Is this b/c the transmission is from a different year...
