    2nd gen explorer 4wd doesnt engage

    Ok so i took the truck to a mechanic for the 4wd. at first he thought the 4wd motor needed to be replaced then came to me and said it wasnt getting power so i needed to replace the GEM module.     Stuck in 4wd low...help!!!

    Can someone plese help? Do not have owners manual for 2002 Ford Explorer. I have automatic trans with shft on the fly push button 4WD AUTO, 4WD HI, AND 4WD LO. What are the proceedures to shift in & out of 4WD LOW? Does truck need to be in neutral, in park, moving, not moving etc.
