'00 LTD Won't start. 9/1

My girlfriend has a '00 6 cyl. LTD. For some reason it will not turn off and stay running. this is the second time it has happened, both times after a heavy rain. She needs it to get to school. If I give it some gas while it cranks it will start, but as soon as I let off the gas it will stall. Any ideas would be great!!

If the problem only occurs after a heavy rain, consider replacing the ignition wires, depending on how old they are..
