I'm from Australia and love the explorers from this age look. I'm moving to a mining town an swill be doing alot of remote travelling and tough 4wdin. Is it possible to modify these boys to be big and tough?! I'd say I would have to ship over some sort of lift kit. How high can u lift these things safely without diff swaps? Can u get air lockers for the front and rear diffs?
Any help would be great cheers!

Yea, look up RoadBully and his lifts... they're pretty sick

Be aware his lifts are no longer available, though. However, his truck is a good one to look at. Some of my favorite lifted 3rd gens on this forum are owned by hitithard, thepotroast, roadbully, MillertimeX17, and ryno_rx8. I will collect some of their build thread/registries and repost when I find them.

The only registry pages available for the members I listed are for
thepotroast: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=247442&page=2
and MillerTimeX17: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=256918

RoadBully is no longer making his spacers, and he has not even logged on to this site since 8:00 pm on December 25, 2009. I have no idea why I have that date & time memorized, I guess it is a time that will live in infamy for 3rd gen explorer owners, lol. However, you can still do the pa-883 body lift, which RoadBully did a great write-up on. His write-up thread is available here: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=219234&highlight=3rd+gen+body+lift and another writeup by ShadowRaven here: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=240957&highlight=3rd+gen+body+lift . Also, BTF-Fabrication has started making lift spacers identical to the ones that RoadBully made, a useful thread being here: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=265898&highlight=BTF+spacers . Another vendor for such spacers is Truxxx. A final source of lift is by ordering springs from www.coilsprings.com.

Hope this helps,
Kendal

See I didn't even now that about roadbully...

Thanks guys I'm signed up to a few forums, like most ur help was very useful, but knowing wen the last time a guy signed in??! Ur a huge fan of this forum, good stuff!

Yeah, I know it's kind of weird, I just went to his profile page once to see a pic of his truck and for some reason that box is burned into my eyes. If you find anything out on any of the other forums be sure to let us know!
