01 explorer LTD, air ride conversion question

Hey Im new to the site and explorers as well. I have an 01 limited explorer that has something wrong with the air ride suspension. I want to convert it to the regular suspension. My question is can I buy the regular shocks and just bolt them on or do I need a special kit? I saw the kit from strutmasters but it just looks like regular struts which are way cheaper from a parts store. Any help will be appriciated. thanks

Regular shocks. Once they're installed unplug the air ride controller that is behind the head unit.
