Hi,

Not entirely new to this forum because lord knows I've used it hundreds of times to help me on some fixes. So I finally decided to register and post my own thread because I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. So here goes.

On my wife's 01 explorer sport the external turn signal and brake lights weren't working. Nor in the dash. (NOT THE CURRENT ISSUE ) So I tried replacing a relay located up under the dash. Being the newbie I am, I didn't know to disconnect the ground from battery battery. Needless to say when I pulled the relay I heard a loud POP. Turned out that the it wasn't the relay that was the issue for the lights, it was a broken wiring harness.

So after the loud popping noise I noticedthat my windows would not work at all. I ordered some new power window switches thinking that was the issue but they didn't work. So since then we've just used the AC but now I wanna get them fixed. So far I've only ruled out the switches not being the culprit. First thing in the morning I'm going to check the the wiring harness that they say runs through the door jam to see if the blue/black wire is broken. I also checked my owners manual but could not find the fuse for the windows. It's not listed, or does it even exist?

That's my issue. I hope someone else on here has encounter a similar problem and had found a solution they're willing to share. Thanks
