02 EB: Aftermarket HU and factory sub possible?

I've got an '02 EB with the factory in dash 6 disc changer and factory subwoofer. The cd changer portion is broken on it so I'm considering replacing it with an aftermarket unit so I can play MP3 discs, hook up an Ipod etc.

My question is can I hook it up to the factory subwoofer without hacking up the harness? Is there a certain feature or outputs to look for? Anyone have experience with particular brands/models that work best without hacking into the harness or would I just be better off finding another used factory unit?

metra, scosche, and american international all make kits that plug right in. go to your local car audio shop and they should be able to get it for you.

i actually have the kit..i bought it and used it for 3 days (no joke) and then i put my avic in.
