2000 Eddie Bauer Explorer
Hi Guys,

I have an 02 Eddie Bauer Explorer which has a 'slight ticking' noise when driving. The sound is coming from the front end. Does anyone know what would cause a ticking noise? I hear it more when I am on the highway next to a jersey barrier that the noise reflects. Any help is appreciated.

BTW, tires wouldn't cause anything like this? I am having new Yokohama Geolander's installed next week.

Thank You!

You could have a stone, or something along those lines in the tread. Could also be a brake noise, or axle seal. Too many options to guess.

CV or driveshaft - i had some serious ticking, and yes it was amplified by barriers or other cars i'd pass, and it turned out to be the front driveshaft.

Would the Drive Shaft and/or CV Joint be covered under the Ford Extra Care Warranty? What is the cost to replace CV Joint or Drive Shaft?

Thanks Guys!

If you can do the work yourself, its pretty cheap, I think the shaft is only around $80 or so bucks. But if you have to pay for labor, it maybe a 2 hour job at around $60 in my area.

how many miles.
