Hello everybody,
I am new here and this is my first post. I have a 2002 Explorer XLT. For the past two years I have been having a strange but very infrequent problem with it. I have finally started researching it online but can't seem to find any conclusive solution.
If I am trying to make a three-point turn and shift from drive to reverse repeatedly, my car sometimes dies when I shift it into drive. The battery icon and the service engine soon icon will both light up. If I then shift from drive to park, I am able to turn the car back on and it acts completely normally.
This has been happening every 3-6 months or so for the past few years, however, I have noticed that more often than not it happens in very cold weather.
Any insight anyone has would be greatly appreciated. I have looked through this forum but haven't seen any threads about this exact problem, sorry if it has already been addressed.
