Well my 02 ford explorer had the abs light on so I checked it and it was for the front left wheel speed sensor. so I checked the wheel bearings and found the left front has a lot of play. Probably going to replace it this weekend.

Just wondering what is a good brand for the front hubs on these explorers and how bad is it to do? Thanks

I put PRO hub/bearings in up front. They were about 70 bucks a piece on Rock auto's website. I would go with a more expensive brand since I have 1,500-2,000 miles on them now and the shop said there is minimal play in them when warm (not sure if that's normal or because of the steering as well.)

Jlloyd5774, I recently replaced both front hub & wheel bearing assemblies on my 2003 Explorer XLS 4.0 4WD with these; http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/compatibility-chart/B00E1SM5AA/ref=au_pf_dp_chart Only have about 1000 miles on so far but no issues and price is right. Be sure to use the "See all vehicles this product fits." link just above the 'Product Information" box about a third of the way down the page.

Ok thank you guys for the advice and info. That was a pretty good video to see for anyone doing a hub anytime soon even if you've done them before. I will probably go with rock auto or skf if there not more than the dealer. The dealers price is 246 for motorcraft

Just wondering has anyone used skf, timkin, or moog hubs on there explorer?

SKF and Timkin would be more alike. Moog is not the same quality as the other.

Moog is a mixed line product. Don't know if it carries to all their product types. I view them just like Fram.
