02 explorer spare tire question

Hey guys I just bought an 02 explorer and it didnt come with a spare tire. It has 17" rims on it so I was wondering what size spare tire came with it. Anyone know what size came with that year or were I could find one?

Sticker on door post should tell you what the origional tire and rim sizes were.

So it should have came with a 17" spare tire?

Mine came with 245/65-17 spare it is the same as the others, it has to be otherwise the AWD would burn up.

what kind of rim is your spare? Is it like the orginal rims or is it a steel rim?

its a black steel rim. Tires are the same make/size.

funny, in '03 they deleted the side badges to save $$$ but left the Alum rim??
Then they put the side badges back on in '04, after the dealers complained, but deleted the stock rim??? LOL :scratch:

Yeah, mine's got the same size spare tire but on the black steel rim. I got a good deal on the same rims and michelin tires on eBay for $300, so I'm gonna put the unused spare on one of other rims with the worst tire. Now I'll have 8 tires to put in the rotation. LOL

Ditto for me on my '02 XLT w/ the optional 17" aluminum wheels.

Although I just noticed that I don't have a jack......damn.

Mine came with 5 17'' rims. Just the spare has not alot of tread on it so when i do a tire change it will be for 5 new.
