02 Explorer XLT broken compass? No Direction readout and no --

Howdy fellow explorer owners. This is my first post. I am a new member simply because I have used your postings here for things to do all kinds of repairs on my 02 explorer that have worked like a charm so the first thing in order is thank you.

I have an interesting compass problem, my compass readout, below my odometer in the dash, reads "00" and the 0's have lines through them. Anyone seen this before or know what it is?

Check the connections on your rear view mirror. The signal comes from the sensor thats in the rear view mirror. You will see 2 connectors.

I checked the connection going into the compass module and everything appears to be tightly connected.

You didn't say if you had the message center or not.

Do the items display properly, or is it just the compass that is not functioning correctly?

Can you take a picture of it?
