Hello all today i went to replace my pads and rotors on the front of my 02 explorer and all was going well until i took of my caliper mounting bracket and realized one of the pins was completely seized. So i thought no big deal so i sprayed some wd40 waited a few minutes and figured it would loosen right up. But NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I tried everything including heat and it would not budge and i ended up actually bending the pin and now it is totally done. So again i figured no big deal i'll just run and get another bracket. I called every parts store in my entire county i think, and not one of them even carried this bracket. I guess i'm going to call the ford dealer in the morning and see if they even have it and how much, then i will be calling a few junkyards. I guess my question to you guys is has anyone had this problem where did u find the part and how much was it? Oh by the way this was only the passenger side i didn't even start on the driver side. Thank you

I also went on to the ford direct parts i think it was called and it wasn't even listed. I even tried ebay, nothing

I just did my brakes this weekend, and know what you're talking about. Those bolts that hold the caliper bracket were Loctited in place. You should re-apply some high strength Loctite when you reinstall the bolts too. I lost one of those bolts on my Grand Prix and it made for a bit of a sticky situation considering I was 3000 miles away from home, and the bolt had to be ordered. GM recommends replacing the bolts, but I don't see why putting more Loctite on them wouldn't work.

I almost positive that you cannot buy just the anchor bracket by itself, it is part of a kit. That may be why you cannot find it listed anywhere.

I contacted my local ford garage. They said that i could get just the bracket but they had to order it and it would take a day or so to get it. The cost was $90.00. I ended up getting a bracket from a junkyard for $40.00 in less than 1hr. Thanks

RockAuto has them

RockAuto sells the caliper brackets, I just ordered one. One of the bolts came out of the bracket after I sped over speedbump the other day. I went all over the place looking for just the bolt, but no one had it. I went to a mechanic and he advised me to replace the bracket, because the threads in the bracket may have been stripped. I called the ford dealer near me and they wanted something astronomical for the bracket, RockAuto's price was 10 bux.
