2002 Explorer Sport Trac
So I bought my sport trac used, and my rear bumper has the integrated ball hitch. Well somewhere in its life it pulled something that was entirely too heavy and it is now all bent down and the body lines are terrible looking. Are there any aftermarket bumpers available that eliminate the ball hitch? I can't seem to find anything anywhere.

Maybe posting a pic could be helpful here.

If the bumper itself is bent down then the damage to it is more than just the cosmetic plastic cover, you would need the actual structural portion of the bumper that underlies the cover replaced. Probably a junkyard or Ebay part if looking for a guess on where to start looking.

All the ST's I've seen have the same bumper w/ provision for ball hitch, btw. Having the ball itself installed is up to you, if you don't want it then don't put one in.

The actual bumper is held in place by 4 bolts. If you can loosen those bolts even just a bit, you should be able to pry or jack the bumper back into proper position. I had to do that with my 2001 Sport Trac. It also has a ball in the bumper which I think is rusted too much to get off. My '02 ST has a cover that fits into that hole.

I did the above to straighten my '01's rear bumper. After loosening the 4 bolts slightly, I put a large deep socket on top of my floor jack and placed it under the trailer ball nut. Worked perfectly.
