Dont' be so hell bent on replacing the sensor so soon. Clear the code and see how often it comes back. If it comes back with regularity, then it might be the sensor, or something else that would affect this sensor, like running rich/lean due to injectors, FPR, ect. Just because the code pertains to the O2 sensor doesn't mean that it's the O2 that is the cause of the problem.

I got the exact same code. Cleared it and in less than a week it came back.
I have two new sensors sittin' in my tool box. I am puttin them in Saturday.

There is a front sensor and a rear sensor. Bank one is the set closest to the engine.
I'll drop a post Saturday night or Sunday some time with my results, time and what have you.

I agree with that. Don't be so hell bent on replacing it. That's the exact reason why O'Reilly Auto won't scan codes for people even though AutoZone and Advance Auto do. A code can say one thing, but it can be a heckuva lot of other things leading to that problem.

i under stand were u guyz are coming from, but i've had this problem for 4 years and they go on and off each time being the sensor. I replaced the one and didn't have a problem untill now. So i'm just gona aliminate y out come, its not even the same sensor that i replaced 6 months ago. So i already have it and i'm just gona throw it up in and hope for the best. I just need to know were the location of bank 1 cylinder 1 was, but i got it now.

what else do u guyz think it could be throwing the O2s off or tripping the check engine light?

Not a bad job.
The right tools make the big differance.
The left side was cake.
The connector is up next to the transfer case. It has a tab taped to the wire harness. Give it a gentle yet firm tug and the connector will come free from the harness. Give it a little twist so you can see the release button. Push the button and unplug the connector. Hit the sensor with a 22mm wrench. Easy stuff here.

Right side, not as easy.
Remove the right front wheel and remove that " leather " flap. The connector for that one is tucked up behind the motor. On that note, my Ex was sitting for over an hour when I was doing this and the back part of the motor was still hot enough to burn me.
I had a real long flat head screwdriver ( like 14" ) worked that up there and poped the release on the connector. Took a bit of skill and a bit of a krick in the neck but I got it.
Removing this sensor I had to manipulate the fender liner a bit and I was only able to use small turns but it was freed up rather quickly and I was able to spin it off by hand.
To put it back in I just used some extra long needle nose pliers.
Remember this. Removing- unplug FIRST, instaling- plug in LAST.
Time invested 30 min.

Bank one always refers to the side of the engine with #1 cylinder, on our engines, this is the passenger side. Sensor 1 or 2 refers to the front (pre-cat) and rear (post-cat) relatively.

Oh really ?????
Oh well I replaced both.
I guess I am ahead of the game.
Thanks for clarifying that for me.

yeah i'm seeing that mine is being a pain on the passenger side, i can get the connector out by hand put i can't unscrew the sensor it won't budge and there is not much room to work, tomarrow or today how ever u look at it i'm gona us some pb blaster and work on it tomarrow. thanks though
