My '99 Explorer Eddie Bauer is creeping up on 200k miles. I know some guys have gone double that with these motors but I don't think it's going to happen with this one. Found a motor on Craigslist from an '03 Explorer with only 85k. I know anything can be made to fit but can anyone tell me if/how the motors may differ and if anything from the 99 would need to swap onto the 03?
My motor does still run well, has a significant front main oil leak, but for $200 it might be worth having a spare motor around. Or do the swap and redo the original motor to keep around.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
