03 XLS 4.0. Now i know my way around most vehicles but im wondering if anyone else is having this problem. Fan seems loud and restricted. The fan is fine but what i dont know is the duct work. I've cleaned out the leaves fallen into the system and i still dont even feel the air hit me until fan speed 3 or 4. I've been in another explorer and it is a huge difference. But the other explorer did not have vents in the center console for the back seat (I dont think that made the difference). When i switch the temp from cold to heat, the loud noise goes away. I think a butterfly in the duct work has broken off or is stuck. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? The air is cold but does not blow hard. Ford dealership around here is very crappy. told me a butterfly was stuck but there not very trustworthy and are greedy for money. Literally. Please help me diagnose this on my own and fix with junkyard parts.
