03 explorer 1 bank rich 1 bank lean and jumped timing

Being told i need to replace block is there anyone that might have any other ideas before i go and replace engine. I know i have to get timing back on first.

compression test

Does the engine still run? I suggest that you perform a compression test on all cylinders. If the compression is low on all cylinders on one bank then the chain on that bank has slipped. If the compression is low on all cylinders for both banks then the primary (crankshaft to jackshaft) chain probably slipped. If any cylinders have no compression then a valve is probably bent in the corresponding cylinders.
 






It runs a little rough. And I have compression on all cylinders one bank slightly less not much.
 






which cylinder low?

Normally, all three cylinders in a bank will be affected about the same if the chain for that bank slips. Which cylinder has low compression? If the driver side bank then the front (left) cassette guide is probably broken. That can be replaced with the engine in the vehicle. If the passenger side bank has the low compression cylinder then the rear cassette guide is probably broken. Normally the engine is pulled to replace the rear cassette. It is also possible to replace the rear cassette by pulling the transmission but very inconvenient unless you have access to a vehicle lift.
 






It is the drivers side that is lower all three cylinders are low. thanks for the help will begin there first thanks again
