03 sport. cruise control problem

Hi there. im new to owning a explorer and to this forum. i hope im posting this in the correct place. i have searched the forum and the www with no luck. i have a 03 sport, 4x4, 6cyl, auto, and the cruise control is not working. I turn it on then try to set, resume or set accel, all i get is breif flash from the cruise light on the dash. i checked the fuses and they are all ok. i am going on a 4000mi trip in two weeks so cc would be nice. any help would be great, thanks

Have you had it in a Ford shop for service lately? They may have disconnected it instead of putting in that new fuse in accordance with the recent Cruise Control recall. Just something simple to look for...

thanks!!! i have not taken it in but did buy it with this problem at a different dealer than ford. i checked for recalls for that vin and it said there were none. it could be because they already did a recall fix so cleared it though.

i did a diagnosis check that i found online which it-have foot off brake, engage parking brake, key off, hold cruise off button down, turn key on, light flashed once, released off button then i pushed the on button within 5 sec. next i pushed accel which blinked. i pushed set with no blink and then cruise with no blink. u think its my right cruise pad that has a bad connection?

i forgot to post what the problem was so here it is. it was the switch on the brake master cylinder that tells brake pressure to turn off the cruise control. its all better now! thanks again!!!
