Hi everyone,

My '04 is leaking a small amount of coolant from somewhere along the seam of the can and the core after a real cold spell.

This is my second radiator. I replaced the original one at 46k with a Visteon (OEM Ford) and now this one is leaking from the same location as the original, from the seam above the drain stem. I currently have 63k+. I think a radiator would last a lot longer than 17k.

Has anyone else had this experience with '04 radiators? Does anyone have any other experience with either Silla or Proliance (Modine)? I bought a container of Zerex Super Seal and figured I'd give it a shot. Any comments?

I would stop by your local parts house and pick up some Bars Leak. It's about 7 bucks.

Check your hoses carefully for leaks(probably not the case but just to be 100%). I have a 96, but they are all the same idea.

The Visteon units have a lifetime warranty, you can check Visteons website for tech support. I actually bought one for that reason from a local collison supply. The man at Visteon tech support actually told me that some of those seams could have issues in extreme temps.

I don't like sealers. They tend to clog passages in your heater core and radiator over time.
