Hey all,
So after my torque converter seized just hours after I drove it off the dealership (You bet I didn't pay a cent to get that fixed), I haven't found any problems with my nice 2004 XLT except one. At a low speed (I've determined it's approx. 33mph), if I've been slowing down with Cruise Control on the engine will stall. I can turn it back on again, so it's fine.
Based on what I've read online, this is a common problem with the Explorer as it does this instead of just shutting cruise control off like other cars. Also, I found the same problem in this thread:
http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=208041
My situation seems exactly like this, all the way down to the mileage the truck has. So there were three solutions presented in that thread:
1. Flashing the PCM
2. Replacing the Throttle Body Assembly
3. Replacing the TPS
According to a post near the end of the thread, simply flashing the PCM wouldn't fix it. So that leaves me with 2 or 3. The final post in it said that replacing the TPS would fix the problem. Does that make sense? And if so...
Is this hard to do on my own (should I bring it to a mechanic)? From what I've read through Google, it seems like a very simple thing to replace it. However, I don't know where to go about buying one (this would be my first time changing something out like this). This site has them, so should I go for that?

Thanks for your help!
