05 Ranger Burning Oil

I have a 2005 Ford Ranger with the 4.0 and 72,000 miles. Yesterday while I had the truck warming up, I went out to the truck and smelled a faint burning oil smell. I smelled the exaust, but it didn't smell like oil. I opened the hood and smelled it faintly coming from the passenger side. It was too cold to explor where it was coming from, but there wasn't any smoke. Has anyone else experience this? Thanks guys!

Maybe there is a small leak from a valve cover gasket?
