Hey guys. I rebuilt my wife's explorer due to head gasket failure. Everything went great until I started it. It seemed to run fine at an idle but had no power and seemed really restricted. So I was able to hollow out the one cat that seemed to be getting the hottest. Still no luck the damn thing just doesn't want to rev up past 2500 rpms. I'm lost any advice would be greatly appreciated.

if the tranny oil and filter are old, there might be some debris floating around in the fluid possibly hanging up a governor. You could try to do a full fluid flush and a new filter. Also check the TV cable to the tranny.

I just had the transmission fluid and filter replaced after I rebuilt the motor. What's this tv cable ?
