My 06 mountaineer V8 continously shows low tire pressure. I have checked all tires and set them to 35 PSI. The light remains on. I spoke to the dealership and they said that each of the sensors needs to be recalibrated. Is this a true fact or is it BS?

It MIGHT be true. It depends on what the background story is.
If any of the wheels have been changed the vehicle has to get "connected" to the new sensors. This may be what the call re-calibrated.
I do not believe that a simple tire rotation would cause this as it will then still "see" the sensors, it would just not know which corner of the vehicle they are on.
If the pressure sensor used to work and then just stopped it is more likely that a sensor in the wheel has failed which would have to be replaced, not just recalibrated.

I am new to having tire pressure sensors on my 2008 Mounty so I have not yet tried rotating the tires or even get a low pressure warning.

You most likly have a broken sensor. Rotating your tires will not trigger the TPMS light as long as the original rims stay on the truck. As an FYI, Your spare tire does not have a sensor in it.
Most Ford Dealers will charge you about $40 bucks for reset, here they can tell you which sensor is faulty.

A replacment sensor is about $90 CDN (about $70 USD).

Make sure you go to a dealer as I originally bought aftermarket TPMS sensors for my summer rims and had nothing but problems. I ended up pulling them out and picking up a set of Ford sensors on EBAY.

Good Luck.

Thanks to all for your responses, I am going to try and get to the dealership in the morning. I hope it just needs reset and not a new sensor.

Problem solved I hope.

Went to the dealership yesterday , they reset the sensors. So far the lights are out hope it stays that way. Charged me $ 38.00. Thanks again for the info.

Good to hear as a solution that many may come across, thanks for the update

You might be able to get it done cheaper at independent tires shops instead of getting ripped off by the dealer
