08 Explorer Exterior Chrome Question

Hi there im just wondering I have a 08 Explorer EB and was wondering if the exterior chrome is plastic or actual chrome. Just would like to find out so I know what kind of polish to use. Thanks

on an 08 i would guess plastic.
where is it located on the vehicle?

the chrome is located on the front grille, rear trim on tailgate and door badges.

All plastic. If your wheels are chrome then they are actually plastic too (chrome clad). I have had great success with mothers chrome polish, just make sure you use a very small amount...if the the chrome looks dull after you applied it then you used enough. Make sure you take your time buffing it off too for the best results.

I never polish chrome plated plastic, just apply a little wax. I would be afraid a chrome polish would be to strong and cause the plastic and the plating to seperate over time.
