If so can someone tell me what part I need for it to work....also, can i install sync addon to my factory navigation? And one more question, I looked at the passengers side kickpanel and I see I have no SIRIUS but I haev the plug and the antenna plug....can I just buy the box off ebay to get it to work? thanks alot

08 Explorer Limited - Phone on Nav

Hey Brian,

If you don't already have the SYNC package with your system, I'd call the dealer to see what they say about getting it added. Like what they would do. Then maybe you can search some way around it if they want to rip you off (not that dealerships ever do that). But otherwise, I think it's just the standard set up for all of them. You can always test it, though, by turning on the bluetooth on your cell (if it's not already or always on), then pressing phone on the radio or steering wheel, and pair it with your phone like you would any other bluetooth device.
As far as the sirius, you can get a box and hook it up, but you'll have to have a subscription, and keep in mind that if you are using the Ford factory radio, you'll have to find a box that is capatible with the Ford factory radio.

Good Luck!

Huh? You have the factory Nav, but no Sync on an '08 Limited?

I have an '08 Limited, and it came with Sync, but with the Ford 6-disk radio unit and Sirus radio. I thought that all '08's had Sync. Look on top of your mirror for a small 'louvered" bump on each side. That's the microphone for Sync and Bluetooth to your cell phone.

You say you have the satellite antenna connection in the right kick-panel. Do you have the rooftop hump antenna?

I'm deep into Sync and Nav ('09) upgrades, and can maybe help, if you clarify these questions.

BTW, anyone know what is in the enclosure in front of the inside rear-view mirror?
