I have no clue if these are related, but thought I'd list them out. 09 Limited, V8, 155k. When warm, the tranny seems to search for gears on slight acceleration. Typically between 3rd - 4th. Not the horrid bucking of previous years... just an odd "not sure which gear we should be in here" feeling. Upshift, downshift, etc. We've had an independent shop and the dealership both tell us it's not the transmission. So, my next logical guess would be it would be the AWD case. A few years ago we had the transfer case drained and refilled and new tires put on. The issue went away for a while, but it's back again. I'm wondering if this whole thing might be related to TSB 09-12-12.
The second issue is that every, oh, once a week or so there's a hard start. It may crank for a good 10-15 seconds before starting. Sometimes we have to try a second time. Once it starts, it's fine. No rough idle, no smells, no... nothing.
Then I started thinking (which is never good). What if the first issue isn't a trans/AWD issue at all? What if this is a bad coil pack or injector or...
Anyway, no codes being thrown. It's been a very solid truck for the last 6 years. Any ideas?
