1. Ford knew about the LH timing chain guide problem in 1998.
2. The oil filler cap is the same as a Ford Fiesta's.
3. If you disconnect the battery it resets the 'Check Engine' light.
4. There is a crease in your Explorer's roof about halfway along.
5. There were 8 different versions of trim in the UK models from 1996-2001.
6. One engine mounting bolt was deleted from mid 1998 onwards.
7. UK models from mid 2000 were fitted with 4 catalytic converters.
8. The thread on the torque converter studs is 3/8" UNF.
9. The North Face model's wheel nuts are different to the other models'.
10. Models from mid 1998 have an arrow above the fuel pump on the fuel gauge to show which side the filler cap is located.

2. It's a cap. It is the same on a lot more Ford's than the Festiva, and maybe other manufactures as well.
3. That's fairly common knowledge
 






11. It's possible to fabricate an engine front pulley extraction tool *entirely* from parts from a Ford Explorer. (I know, because I made one)
