Hello everyone, I am new to this forum, really just trying to help out a friend with a problem, not my personal vehicle. I have tried to do some searches to find an existing thread, but couldnt find the answer I need, Im sorry if this is already posted and I missed it.

Ok here goes, it is a 97' Explorer XLT 5.0 V8 loaded. The vehicle started to blow the #10 underhood 30-amp Maxi fuse, which I would guess is the power windows, locks, moon roof, etc because none of those work when the fuse blows. I am guessing a short because if you put in another fuse it will blow when the vehicle is driven a few feet. Where should I start, what do I do? Thank you very much in advance...... :)

Well I think I figured it out, read some more tonight and I am pointed a ground wire in the Drivers door, 10/12 awg that breaks frequently and stops these functions. True?

A ground wire is not likely to short out a fuse.

Fuse #10 (30A maxi) in the battery junction box under the hood feeds the ABS pump relay located in the auxiliary fuse box #1 under the hood. (should be a part of the same fuse box... check the owner's manual for the location). Pull the relay and replace the fuse. If it still blows, there's a wiring issue. If you pull the relay and replace the fuse and it doesn't blow, it could be either a bad relay or a bad pump. Either way, there's more work to do...

Ok I thought that maybe a power wire had been broken in the door jamb boot as well. I will try the fuse with the relay removed and see what happens, thanks for the info. I am going to work on it Sunday, so I will try some things then.
