My name is Mary K, I just wanted to say hello and thank you.
I own a 93 Explorer Sport and a novice at car repair. I was having issued with front brake locking. After a night of searching I finally found THIS THREAD and it was exactly what I needed to wrap my head around replacing the pads & pins.
I have the haynes repair manual, but the tiny pictures and my little experience just wasn't enough to give me the confidence to do this.
I have successfully replace pads and pins on the driver side and tomorrow will do the passenger side.
Although the pads were in good shape (only 30k on them) the pins were a little rusty and I saw no lubricant on them or the "V" grove. I even bled the brake line to that tire because the brake fluid is nasty. (20 years and I dont think its ever been flushed) Will complete flush once other side is done.
Anywho, thank you for providing this forum and the all the great threads!
