I have ordered a new driver side window regulator and power window motor, the spring that comes with the kit was not installed, as I installed the new setup, the window still does not want to go up or down. The motor runs. But the window will not go up or down. So I uninstalled it thinking that I had messed up the new kit and I ordered another one. I reinstalled the second kit and the same issue exists. Is there a particular way that the spring needs to be installed? I can't seem to find anything on the internet to help out.

Any chance you could provide a photo of exactly what you purchased/replaced/installed?

The first picture is the original one that I took out of the driver door...the second pic is of the one I purchased. As you can see the spring on the new one is off. I can't seem to figure how exactly it goes...all or any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your not supposed to remove the spring unless the arms are secure. Trying to post pics but it's taking forrreeevveerrr...

In the original one, the spring is still on and like it was from the factory...but the new one showed up with the spring in a separate baggy.

Be careful there's a story on here a guy cut off his thumb working on the window regulator in the door... I'm pretty sure that spring just pops over the center then u poke the end in part into the counterweight....is it not going on?

I put the spring on the new regulator both ways and still the window doesn't have enough strength to take the glass up....at first I thought it was the battery wasn't strong enough so I went and got a new battery and no it's not the battery thinking maybe not enough juice for the power motor... I am so out of ideas

Yea the motors get weak over time it's going out is my guess check the ground cable should have less than 5 ohms of resistance to the door if it all checks out my bet is on the motor.

Lubricate rollers shafts and tracks with multipurpose grease

I also bought two brand new motors I tried putting one new motor in the old regulator didn't work I put one of the new motors in the new regulator did the same thing... Maybe some C-4 might help it...lol

Are we talking no movement both directions? That spring is loaded like needs to be installed under tension so much so that the regulator can snap back , possibly chopping a finger lol just kidding... But seriously I think the tension is way off along with possible coroded connections. I have the same truck...1st gen right? The motor should be strong enough on its own to at least move the glass maybe not seal right without the spring tension...do u have a multimeter? Can measure amps on that circuit before going further. Also I'm not seeing anything wrong with that old regulator they usually twist or break ...
broken worm gear? Can u hear anything when u roll it up?

The motor makes the sound as if it's trying to work the old motor plus the two new ones sound identical. The window works going down but going up I have to assist it. And then sometimes the window won't even go down the motor just sounds like it's whiny..

Whiney motor jamming issues. Sounds like the gears are bad.

Before u replaced everything did u have the same problem?

Yes... That's why I thought maybe the regulator was jammed or the motor was not working so I bought both...then when those two you components didn't work I thought maybe they sent me some bad ones so I reordered the same components and I'm having the same issues still
