Ok so I'm selling my 94 full size bronco. and i'm thinking about getting a second explorer. i found a 1993 Ex sport 4x4, the car lot selling it only wants $700 out the door. it does have some problems so i'd figured i'd ask what you guys think.
the top of the front wheels lean in just a little bit. and when you turn the wheels all the way there is a loud clunk, when stopped and driving. I'm guess that the ball joints and tie rod ends need replaced?
also the windows in both of the doors have been busted out and someone put some plexiglass in to replace them. the window motors still work but of course the plexi doesn't move.
also it has a fuel leak. I couldn't tell where exactly it was coming from, but it looked like it was coming from one of the lines right by the gas tank then running down and dripping off the gas tank skid plate.
the truck will go in and out of 4x4 hi just fine. how ever when you push the 4x4 lo button nothing happens. it doesn't make any noise at all. and yes I know the proper way to put it into 4lo.
the good of it is that it's not completely rusted out. it has about the same amount of rust as my 00. the engine and trans run great and strong. i don't have to care as much if someone hits me this winter. tires are in good shape and all matching BFG All terrain Long Trail, i'd say about 75% tread left. one of the previous owners put a engine heater on it. the best part i think is that it's less than half the book value. but it does come with needing repairs.
let me know if you think i should get it and what else might be wrong with it from the problems I described.
