Alright, this is my first post. So hello everyone!

Anyway, my front passenger window isn't rolling up. I did a bit of poking around with a check light, trying to figure out if it's a bad switch or not. I'm pretty new at this sort of thing so I could be wrong, but from what I can tell, it's NOT the switch. When the up button is held down, the yellow/red wire lights up, so I'm assuming that's the wire for up. Also, since I'm getting the light, that means the switch isn't bad, right?

And if it's important, the red/green wire also lights up.

Also as far as I can tell, the window isn't derailed or anything. Wires look good too(though if it was broken, I wouldn't be getting that light, right?)

So, does this mean I just have a bad motor?

Anyway, thanks for reading!

When you hit the switch do you hear any noise? Do the dome lights dim a little showing the motor is trying to work? :D

Im pretty sure the red/green is a ignition positive wire, so you can disregard that one, the yellow/red is the one you want, and if its lighting up then power is moving past the switch. A few things to check out. While holding the button, Carefully (and i stress this, watched a friend break a finger doing this) reach down to the connections on the window motor and wiggle them. It may be as simple as a loose connection. If that fails, give the window motor a few good wacks while holding the button. If the brushes inside are going bad, or you have a dead spot, this should get it moving.

this happened on to me on the driverside window of my ex... i used the search bar an came to the conclusion from some other people that theres a short in my wires jus let it sit for awhile then try anywhere from a few hours later to a few days it should come up for you... i still havent fixed mine i jus dont roll it down all the way lol

Odd question for you, do you have auto down on your passenger side? This was a popular mod a lot of people were doing back in the day, you take a auto down module for the drivers side and wire it into the passenger side. If thats the case, i highly doubt that they secured it well into the door and if you beat those things around, the IC chip pops off the board. If you have auto down on the door, locate the module, its about the size of a pack of cigarettes, unplug it, slip a 15 amp fuse into the 2 larger spades on the connector and give it a shot.

well, I got it to roll up. I think it might've been the bad brush or dead spot problem, because whacking the motor a bunch worked(before, I was just smacking the whole door which was probably stupid). Anyway I'll have to mess with it some to figure out what was wrong, but thanks for your help guys!

Oh, and nope, no auto down.

I had the same problem on my 94. Turned out to be the black module box located just below the light in the door. I read where it controls the one touch button and took it off added a 20 amp fuse in its place 3 years later no problem.

I agree, if you still have the door open, take a look in there for a express down module which looks like this

if you see it, unplug it, jam a 20 amp fuse into the spot that it will fit, tape it up nicely, and consider it a job done.

Sorry, but can you explain this a little better? I think this is the problem with my window. I don't understand what you mean by "jam a 20 amp fuse into the spot that it will fit".

Thanks.

Mike

You place a blade fuse 20 amp where you unplug the black module. The fuse fits into the slots perfect. You can see where it lines up. Then tape it up real well as I did mine and no problem.

Thanks. I appreciate the explanation. I'll have to give that a try. Sorry I didn't understand the initial post.

both my windows dont roll up if i lower them all the way down.
i have to take the door panel off and tap the motor and they both will come up.
i replaced the 3 white spacers to get the motor to engage the reg.
maybe i put the coil helper spring on backwards.
im assuming that the spring was there to help the window open.
so i put it on to load as the window was rolling down.
