I have a 1994 Ranger XLT. I am having issues with trying to find out what is wrong with my truck. I have been pointed in two directions. 1st is the Cam sensor, which I cannot find in the back of the engine. 2nd is the crank sensor. All I know is my truck runs like it is soooo out of time, I can't put it in gear without it dying out.
My question is,
1.)Does my Engine even have a Cam sensor?
2.)Where is the cam sensor located? I have looked extensivley with no luck.
3.)Could it be the crank sensor? If so where is that located?

I could really use some advise.

Have you pulled the engine codes yet?

As for the sensor locations, I think the cam sensor is on the rear of the engine where the distributor would otherwise be (also IIRC, only California vehicles have this sensor), the crank sensor is on the front of the engine next to the crankshaft damper.

Majority of the time the plug onto the crank sensor is dirty..
