Went to lunch with my friend and came out to leave but his truck won't start. It's a '94 Ranger with a 3.0 V6. He has had issues and fixed relays and the fuel pump previously. It does continue to crank strong, but won't turn over and start. Any thoughts on where we should be looking first? We have to go back and get it after work and hopefully it won't need a tow. Unfortunately my thought is that it may be fuel pump related in which case it would require a tow.:(

Thanks in advance,

Mike

When you turn the key on (just short of start), have your friend put his ear by the gas tank and listen for the pump running. If it isn't, and you've already checked the fuse and relay you may also want to check to see if the fuel pump inertia switch has popped. It is located on the firewall of the passenger compartment towards the middle and has a gray top that gets pushed down I believe. I'd also check the ignition cable that is attached to the fender-mounted starter solenoid switch..
