1995 Explorer Sport manual trans. Syncromesh or Mercon?

That's what I'm thinking at this point.

I'll nurse it along for the time being until it gets worse. I'm into this project about 500 more then I had budgeted due to the last owner lies about it's 'condition'. This terd even went so far as to install a 'new' battery. So I move it around and see the new battery and all the 'new stuff' he installed before it went off the road.

I go to pick it up, and of course he's not home (claimed he was in hospital). He put a junk yard battery into it, and the more we peal back the layers..the more lies are exposed.

In for a penny in for a pound at this point. Just have to be gentle with it and let the funds build up again.

Bushings where not of much help. This P/O had to know the transmission had issues going into gear. I found extra gouge marks and fairly new bushings already installed. Now they where a bit worn I think..

Reason I say "I think" is because the ones removed, where sitting flush along with the upper spring washer.

The replacement one sits about 1/8" higher, and lining up the spring washer? Let's just say it's wedged in place I expect. I centered it as best I could and carefully snugged down the 3 screws holding it in place.

It did make the shifter a hella lot tigher then it was (it was flopping a bit) And the 3-4 seems a bit smoother.

But I'll also say I just lost all respect for "Dorkman" products. Ordered it in from NAPA, fair price. The retaining pins? Had to reuse the old ones. The ones with the kit? Much to small. They didn't even press into the housing. They just kinda fell into place loosely. No retaining pressure at all. Very unhappy with that product line.

That's to say most likely the bushings are probably the wrong size and type. It states that it fits on my transmission, but between it sticking way up and out of the housing? And the pins not even attempting to "fit" into place? Yeah, not impressed.

I posted wrong video. My bushings were flush. My apologies, I was in a hurry when I posted. Don't know if the brand makes a difference.
