Hi all. New here. Was given a 1996 Limited 4x4 auto with Control Trac. Trying to fix an issue where the drive gear in the transfer case is eating up the driven gear on the sensor (well actually 3 now...). Reading the writeup here on rebuilding the 4405, judging by the pics, it appears the gear should slide off the shaft once the yoke and seal are removed from the rear output shaft. I grabbed it with a couple 90 degree picks and it wont budge. Before I try and pry it out through the sensor hole, can someone confirm it is supposed to slide out? It's probably just stuck to the shaft is what I am hoping. Not really wanting to pull the transfer case if I don't have to.
