my 96 explorer started to whine/grind during downshift. the issue goes away as soon as the gas pedal is pressed. sounds like it is coming from tranny. it only happens after shifting into 3rd or higher. no issues in 1st 2nd or reverse. I was told it could be the trans pump but not sure the symptoms match. any ideas?
