1996 Explorer power seat

The driver side power the up/down mechnism appears to work but makes a loud grinding sound. The front tilt mechanism does not appear to work although it makes the same loud grinding sound. The front/back mechanism makes the normal motor sound. Does this mean that the noisy mechanisms are about to fail? and if so is there an "easy" fix?

Pull the seat and check the mechanisms and make sure there is nothing interfering. But I think you'll find it's time for a new seat base. I would look for a good used one at this point as new is very expensive.
