Im sure this topic is somewhere, i have a set of 2003 sport trac doors from a rollover, the driver side one was messed up or i took it off years ago and no luck finding it. what i am wondering is if the handles will fit from the 2003 to 1997. are the front and backs the same, driver to passenger etc. im going to start pulling apart doors in a few days possible. just hoping someone can say yay or nay, then save some work.

The front and rear are the same, but I don't know if those from an '03 Sport Trac are the same.

There is a long topic here, maybe the info is in it:

There are some differences, but the handles will fit both. The handles on our '97 Mountaineer are metal, whereas the Sport Trac handles are plastic. The part where the springs and rod attach inside the door are slightly different designs, but they interchange. I used plastic replacement handles from the same box on my '01 and '04 Sport Tracs and the '97 Mountaineer.

Thanks for the info. i thought i was done with explorers so misplaced the parts in my messy garage, probably mixed up with mustang parts. so i will be taking apart the next worst door from the sport trac for parts.
