i have a 97 mtneer w/ 5.0 and bought the FRPP headers for it as the stock manifolds went to crap. now, after 6 mos and 10k miles, the ck. engine lite comes on intermittently. anybody got a clue how to fix it? the dealership said the pcm shows numerous codes and i just put brand new O2 sensors in.

That's screaming exhaust leak to me. If that's the case, it must not be a very bad one to only pop the light occasionally. Get the codes scanned at Autozone. If the results come back with a "Bank 1 System too lean" or Bank 2 system 2 lean" its an exhaust leak at the flange.

Bank 2 is the drivers side and Bank 1 is the passenger side.

thanx for the info, i will ck this out. my neighbor has a scan tool from auto zone (the hand held kind) but i don't no if will go up that far in years(97). i also have been doing sum reading up on this site and if i understand it right there may have been a EGR bung on the stock manifold(s). i don't no if this is unique to the mtneer or not.
