1997 Ranger 4.0 no check engine light has no power also when it is really cold will stall when driving in gear

Lost of power acceleration is really slow have no check engine light on

I would check fuel pressure first... possible failing fuel pump.... can "free rent" fuel pressure gauge at Autozones...
97 might have had mix of "return and return-less" fuel systems...find out which one yours is....
"Returns" should read 30 PSI and I "believe" returnless setup should read 65 PSI ....someone will probably chime in to elaborate...
