1998 xlt 3rd brake light removal

I am going insane. I have searched the site and cannot find how to remove the 3rd brake light. There are no visible screws. I lifter the hatch, I lifted the window only, and I've tried prying gently from the top. that seemed to work but as I got a little more pressure it cracked it. How do I get it off? Please?.?.?.?.?

That site is incorrect. Only 95-75 are neon, 98+ are LED.

Anyway though, you have to remove the liftgate trim.
