1998 XLT needs transmission, how interchangable are they

I am looking to put a used tranny in my Explorer, its a 4.0L SOHC, 5r55e, and I was wondering how interchangable they are. Can I throw in a 97, because even though they have the same trans model number, I have found a few different part numbers. Thanks

There shouldn't be any difference between a '97 or '98 5R55E, but I would check with a dealer mechanic to be sure.
