My 1998 explorer xlt 4.0 sohc automatic transmission is having a shifting problem around 20-30 mph, (I am assuming shifting from 1st to second gear).
1.0) happens after a stop or very slow role under 10 mph.
2.0) As i take off normally It wants to shift right around the 20-30 mph range but will not and then rpm's go up about 500rpm. If i let off the gas it will shift and then every thing is fine. No other issues going up in speed (75 mph), just happens when its (again i believe first gear) and you are taking off.
After driving it for 30 minutes (trying to document what actually where all the syptoms) from a stop i also heard a clunk and am not sure if that is related.
I have 150,000 on explorer
